The walk will trace the multi-layered history of Old Gurgaon, through the bylanes of Jacobpura.
Jacobpura- a small settlement in the village of Hidayatpur Chawani was Founded and named after the local Deputy Commissioner, an Englishman by the name of Mr. Jacob, in the year 1861. The small settlement was planned to accommodate the staff of the British East India Company, which later was mostly occupied by the merchants of the main city bazaar- Sadar.
We aim to deconstruct the living history of this Old Gurgaon precinct, look at a few architectural marvels, and speak to locals, allowing participants to develop their own 'sense' of this place.
