Emakumeak eta itsasoa (Women and the Sea)
We will walk following the promenade along the beaches of Donostia- San Sebastian, Basque Country, Spain. The theme that will guide this walk is the women who had in the past and have now a close relationship with the sea throughout history. We will talk about women like Catalina de Erauso who crossed the Atlantic Ocean centuries ago, about the beach workers and the evolution of their work, about those who attended the bathers, about the workers in the port, and about those who now embark and work on boats right now.
Se caminará siguiendo el paseo alrededor de las playas de Donostia-San Sebastián. El tema que guiará este paseo es las mujeres que tuvieron y tienen una relación estrecha con el mar a lo largo de la historia. Se hablará de mujeres como Catalina de Erauso que cruzó el oceano Atlántico hace siglos, de las trabajadoras de la playa y la evolución de su trabajo, de las que atendían a las bañistas, de las empleadas en el puerto, y de quienes ahora se embarcan y emplean en barcos.
