In celebration of legendary urban activist Jane Jacobs 100th birthday, join us for a walk highlighting the history of arts on Capital Hill. Anne Focke (Arts activist and resident of Capital Hill, both now and in the 1970s and 1980s) and Michael Seiwerath (Capital Hill Housing) will lead you on a 60 minute tour of the seminal arts spaces on the hill. From neighborhood institutions, to a legendary 1969 conceptual art piece (John Baldessari and George Nicolaidis' BOUNDARY), little known gems (John Criscitello’s studio), and the ephemeral (V2), see the arts through the work of the visionary Jane Jacobs. The walk will end at Oddfellow’s Hall, where dozens of arts organizations had a home in the 1970-90s. Those so inspired can continue the conversation over drinks at the building’s Tin Table Restaurant.
