This informative bike tour begins at the parking lot of City Park Boat Rentals at Big Lake Trail. Taking safe biking routes, we will bike to the London Avenue Canal breach (5300 Warrington Drive) in the Filmore Gardens neighborhood of Gentilly and hear a short discussion of the breach disaster. We will visit a pump station and then bike along scenic Lake Pontchartrain to the 17th Street Canal breach (6932 Bellaire Drive) in the Lakeview neighborhood and hear another short discussion of the breach disaster. Finally, we bike back through beautiful City Park. The bike tour is 12 miles. You must bring your own bike.
