Instabike of Downtown

Our last tour of the season will be Saturday, October 12th. Only this time we will explore by bike! We will explore history, urban design, redevelopment, and your vision for the future of Downtown. Thanks to the Utah Heritage Foundation for contributing some of the historical facts we’ll share.

The tour is free with an activity planned specifically for kids (it’s cool, we promise!). Each participant will receive a pedometer and we’ll give away a City Connect Pass at the end of each tour (both courtesy of Visit Salt Lake).

Bring your own bike. A limited number of GREENBikes will be available for individuals to borrow. If you need a bike, please email molly.robinson@slcgov.com by 5 pm October 10th. Bring your smartphone to contribute to an Instagram photo journal of the tour (#downtownplanslc). See our project website (downtownplanslc.com) for more information! Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/579873202069272/

The Ecology of the Jordan River

  • Jordan River Parkway at 700 North (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The event is cohosted by the Jordan River Commission and Jane Jacobs Walk. The walk will be led by Ty Harrison, an ecologist and former Westminster professor. The walk will highlight the ecological features of the Jordan River. We would especially like to encourage children and families to participate in order to cultivate ideas about a possible interpretive trail and ways to work nature education into the school curriculum.
