Bike the Bench

We will be starting in the 9th and 9th neighborhood and exploring the neighborhoods that exist between that area and the Sugarhouse neighborhood. Bike the Bench will be a very casual ride heavily focused on the history and community feel of the neighborhoods we will be exploring. The event will be culminating with a group discussion aided by spirits we will be acquiring at Sugarhouse Pub

A tour through “hidden” East Austin, with a special emphasis on African American, Latino, and New Deal history. We’ll begin with the hidden African American history associated with the Legation and Robertson Hill.
