In the first weekend of May each year, people around the nation host walks in honor of Jane Jacobs, who prevented highways from carving up Manhattan and Toronto — and is arguably America’s most famed urbanist.
This year’s “Jane Jacobs Walk: Phoenix” – hosted by Will Novak, board president of the Phoenix Historic Neighborhoods Coalition – will explore the history and urban characteristics of Adams Street, which is currently being reviewed by the City of Phoenix and its consultants for an “”activation project.””
There will be opportunities during the walk to enjoy a drink refreshment and converse with other walkers about our downtown.
