This Jane’s Walk will travel down the commercial corridor of Oak Street from Carrollton to the Mississippi River Levee Park and then back up Oak to Carrollton. Discussion will range from the history of Oak Street to recent development since hurricane Katrina and will also cover the current life and culture on Oak Street. This walk promises to give a picture of a historic yet thriving and developing urban main street.

Route: Start at the corner of Oak Street and Carrolton (1140 South Carrollton / 8000 Oak Street). The event will then circumnavigate Oak Street and end in the same location.
